About the job

The Legal team ensures that the company’s operations comply with the current laws and regulations. This team is also responsible for risk management and the legal protection of the company’s operations. The Legal team works closely with Scaleway’s different departments and guides them throughout their projects.

Reporting to the Legal Operations Manager, you will provide legal guidance and counsel to your colleagues. You will be responsible for raising awareness and training operational managers on the various legal issues they face every day. 

You will also play a key role in elaborating and reviewing the legal tools that are necessary for our team (contract templates, legal policies, archiving, documentation databases, etc.). Moreover, you will monitor the evolutions of the different laws and regulations that have an impact on the company. 

Profil recherché

  • Analysis and summarizing abilities (especially regarding business topics), as well as writing and negotiating skills, autonomy, organization, good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with contract law, trade law, consumer law, data protection, ICT law, intellectual property
  • Previous experience in a company or lawyer’s office
  • Very good command of both English and French

  • Knowledge of IT contracts (maintenance, facilities management, terms and conditions, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a tech company (digital services provider, cloud provider, integration, or facilities management provider, etc.)
  • Passionate about new technologies and digital law
  • Possess working knowledge of the cloud industry and IaaS, PaaS & SaaS services

  • Help write, negotiate, and follow up on the different contracts our company has signed with its providers, customers, and partners
  • Identify and implement processes and policies to ensure the Legal Department functions properly
  • Train and raise awareness among other employees about the legal issues they encounter in our business
  • Write and update the contract templates the Legal team uses (terms and conditions, NDAs, blanket orders, etc.)
  • Help guide, advise, and follow up on the company’s different departments (Marketing, Sales, Supply, Support, etc.) in their daily missions

  • This position can be:  
    - Based in our offices in Paris or Lille (France), partial/full remote is possible
